The Pork Place (Revisit) @ IOI Boulevard, Puchong

8:00:00 AM

So, I'm back here to revisit The Pork Place at IOI Boulevard, puchong. You can read my previous review at http://www.findingfats.com/2015/04/the-pork-place-ioi-boulevard-puchong.html. This time, to try out more of their stuff!

The entrance with outdoor seating area.

The Pork Place prides itself in its included butchery. Serving fresh pork meat with different grades for any pork lover. Known as Sanbanto and is currently still quite popular in the SS2 area.

They also have a mezzanine space for a gathering of 10-15 people.

Pork Belly Salad & Pork Bacon Salad - RM18.90 & RM21

We started off with 2 different type of salads. The pork belly salad includes generous slices of pork belly that was extremely salty, kinda gave flavour to the salad itself. Mixed greens, onions, cheese, cherry tomatoes are the standard ingredients used in the pork belly salad.

The pork bacon salad on the other hand features pork bacon that has been fried to crispy perfection, served with the standard ingredients and additional lychee. It also comes with a thousand island dressing on the side. Light, fresh and delicious.

*Twirls of Landrace-Duroc - RM22.80

The name was equally confusing as the plating of it. But fortunately, the flavours were really good. Rich, succulent and paired nicely with the greens on the side. The Twirls of Landrace-Duroc was pretty good. Though I would consider it as appetizer.

Crispy Skin Pork Knuckle - RM40 (half) / RM69 (whole)

The crispy skin pork knuckle was really crispy - and I do mean really crispy. With such a perfectly golden skin, how could it be not? The meat was also incredibly tender and juicy. Paired with The Pork Place's signature mustard sauce, it was truly amazing. Simple and absolutely delicious. I would put the crispy skin in my sandwich anytime, if I were to make one.

BBQ Ribs - RM48

I had tried the BBQ Ribs previously and I have to say that it got better. So much more tender and way more flavour. Despite the overuse of bbq sauce (I personally find it too much), the meat still retained its natural flavour - subtle but noticeable.  Served with a beautiful mash underneath and greens on the side.

*Pork Loin Steak - RM50

Thin and succulent steaks of pork loin, grilled to tender perfection and served with grilled onions, mixed vegetables and bacon bits mash on the side. Lovely marination as it had a deep depth of flavour. However, the meat was a little dryer compared to the first time I've had it. Probably due to the amount of time taken for the photo. Nevertheless, it was really good on the flavour-side.

*Pork Collar Steak - RM68

Lovely pork collar, tender and easily broken apart filled drenched in rich bone stock and served with dauphinoise potatoes. I did find the stock to be a little too salty. However, the rich flavours of it was commendable. I dislike the fact that the pork collar fell apart so easily, but it was proof that it was incredibly soft and tender.

*Best of Bellies - RM65

Last but not least, the Best of Bellies. Served with sauteed mushrooms and tomatoes on the side, mash below and a wholesome rich sauce. It truly was a treat, as the fat within the pork belly melted in my mouth. Packed with flavour and glutinous goodness, the best of Bellies truly was one of my favourite dish. However, unfortunately for many, they found it too fat as the lean part was barely noticeable. Regardless, I enjoyed it!

In conclusion, The Pork Place has much to offer in terms of pork. Especially when the dish itself uses a more premium and higher grade 'Black Pig'. Those are the dishes with the * at the beginning. They're made with the highest quality of pork as they were incredibly tender, juicy and full of flavour. The Pork Place is a great restaurant to satisfy your porky cravings and to purchase raw pork as well.
