Pretz & Beanz @ Ikano Power Center, Damansara

8:00:00 AM

I guess you could say this is my second time at Pretz & Beans, but in Ikano instead. Previously was at Solaris http://www.findingfats.com/2014/10/pretz-beans-solaris-mont-kiara.html. I'm just gonna keep it short as this was a review to test their consistency between 2 branches and over a duration of several months.

The corner front facade/entrance.

Basil Cheese Pretzel - RM6.90

Warm, crisp, cheesy and fragrant. Consistent with the outlet in Solaris.

Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel - RM5.90

Pretzel was evenly coated with cinnamon sugar thus making every bite noticeable. Not a big fan of cinnamon but I did quite enjoy this.

Sweet Potato Filled Pretzel - RM12.90

I had the apple filled version in Solaris as their sweet potato was out of stock. Sweet, starchy and mushy inside, I somehow enjoyed this more than the apple version.

Sausage Pretzel

It might look wrong to some people but fear not, its not what you think. Deliciously juicy sausage wrapped in pretzel dough and baked to perfection. A great afternoon snack.

Tower Chicken Burger - RM21.90

Despite looking ridiculously ordinary, the burger stands out in terms of its chicken patty. Made from a piece of tender thigh, it maximizes on the juiciness and flavour alongside its tenderness. Everything else were pretty normal though.

Chicken Hawaiian Pretzel Pizza - RM14.90/20.90 for 7"/10"

Crispy, pretzel-ly, flavourful and packed full with flavour. Really enjoyed the pretzel base in comparison with the traditional ones.

Spicy Seafood Pasta - RM26.90

Despite my hate towards dry pastas, usually on Aglio Olios, I quite enjoyed this. Spicy and packed full of flavour. The only thing I disliked was the mussels - a little too frozen for my liking. But all an all, a very Malaysian pasta indeed.

Royale Salmon Eggs Benedict - RM23.90

Nice slices of salmon with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce on spinach and muffin. Quite common, balanced flavour and generally very acceptable to the general palette.

Caramel Butter - RM13.90

Their famous caramel butter on toast with whipped cream. Crispy and toasty bread with light and foamy whipped cream alongside semi-sweet caramel sauce. Lovely dessert, though I wished the whipped cream was colder.

Waffle with Vanilla Ice Cream

I have to admit, the ice cream there looks pathetic and sad. I mean, it feels so lonely just by imagining yourself as the scoop of ice cream. I wished they had a little bit more going on for this basic waffle. I know its basic, but some vanilla syrup or mint leaves might help brighten the dish up. But taste-wise, not a problem at all.

Overall, those that I've had before in Solaris and tried it again here at Ikano, were consistent. So no problem on that. Generally, I believe everything ranged from average to above average. Some were really good, like their selection of pretzels and some were slightly under-developed. But overall, a pretty good meal can be found here at Pretz & Beanz.
