Ben's @ KLCC

8:00:00 AM

Hello everyone, this will be a short update on my experiences in Ben's located in KLCC. Although I've tried Ben's in Publika many months ago, I did not take any photos nor remember much about that meal. Anyway, here are what I think about the food.

T2 Peppermint Tea - RM7.90

A cup of peppermint tea with its tea bag originated from Australia served with biscotti and liquid sugar. First and foremost, the aroma of the peppermint tea was pretty noticeable. Furthermore, the taste of it was rather strong and not diluted; gives a really smooth and calming feeling after drinking. However, I usually like my peppermint tea strong and this was unable to deliver such a flavour. But, the good thing is that it is refillable, even until the flavour disolves.

Aglio Olio Spaghettini - RM14

Now, I dont personally fancy aglio olio in any restaurant but I was somewhat urging to try this one for some reason. I've heard many who claimed its taste and value which somehow caught my attention. All and all, I find it acceptable in someways. No doubt it was slightly dry but it had a good depth of flavour.

Well seasoned, garlic-ky and a hint of spiciness was layered upon each strand of spaghetti. I may have not like the texture of it but I have to admit that the flavours were pretty good. However, the portion was horrible. I personally find it insufficient to even fill 30% of my tummy.

Nasi Ulam with Ayam Percik - RM26

RM26 seems to be a lot of money especially when the portion of rice and chicken are so minimal.  Besides being blue which I find no purpose besides aesthetical value, the rice was pretty alright, not too sticky nor too dry. The chicken however, was engulfed with rich and flavourful sauce. The chicken was cooked perfectly; tender, moist and juicy. Having said that, the serving of mixed raw vegetables were horrible. It tasted so bad that it was left untouched. Even with the additional serving of sweet sauce, it was really bitter. Last but not least, the fish cracker wasn't all too bad.

Garlic Baguette - RM6

A simple serving of garlic spread on sliced baguette, 3 of them to be exact. Good flavour, well coated throughout the surface of the baguette and toasted crispy. Not exactly cheap for 3 slices of baguette but it was reasonably priced as the place was in KLCC.
