Taste Malaysian International Gourmet Festival (TasteMIGF) Event 2013 Part 2 @ Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre

12:34:00 AM

This is the part 2 to the TasteMIGF 2013 in Sunway Pyramid. You can view part 1 here: TasteMIGF Part 1. Inside the hall, there were 28 restaurant booth placed around the VIP area. The VIP area comprises of tables, chair and a stage for live band. As a Media, we were able to enter the hall before everyone else, so it was pretty free that time. After the arrival of invited guest, the hall started to feel a little cramp. However, since everyone was having such a great time, its not that bad. Moving on to the restaurants and their selection of food.

For non-media, visitors will have to purchase Taste Tokens for RM50 per booklet. Each booklet has 10 vouchers, making each voucher RM5. Spend it wisely!

Taste MIGF Taste Tokens!

Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel - Dynasty & Sagano

The first booth on my left being Renaissance Hotel. Their selection of Japanese cuisines were phenomenal.

Renaissance's dishes. Personally I loved the last one, Dumpling in Superior Stock. The best part, it has scallops inside and the soup was just heavenly.

Nook - Aloft KL Sentral

I find the first dish to be just simply amazing. Its Nasi Lemak but with Wagyu Beef Rendang. The meat was just so tender and juicy; like nothing I've had before. The last dish was actually Laksa, which was also really good. The soup was strong, aromatic and flavourful. It felt like they've put plenty of effort to create a right balance to the soup; not to sour nor spicy.

The Westin Kuala Lumpur - Five 5en5es, Prego & QBA Latin Bar & Grill

The Westin Kuala Lumpur's booth.

Putrajaya Marriot Hotel & Spa - Midori & Tuscani

Best Western Premier Dua Sentral - Grill 582

2nd dish, Spicy chocolate mousse was an absolute delight. The chocolate was not only rich and bitter sweet, it has a tinge of spiciness blended with it as well. Lovely! Mango Prawns were pretty interesting but it doesn't really suit my taste.

Tarbush Restaurant

At that point in moment, Tarbush had not served anything yet. That is the reason why I did not take much photo of it.

Kelantan Delights

Personally what I thought of Kelantan Delights was the fact that they were trying to bring Malaysian food to a fine dining level. Most of the dishes were pretty good but it wasn't enough to reach a level where people can say "Hey, lets have Malaysian fine dining for dinner!". However, I really do love their Lemongrass drink (Pic 3). One of the best I've tasted so far.

Saujana Resort Kuala Lumpur - The Club

Cool chef in glasses. He put them on for us on purpose.

Minori

I personally find the Salmon Sashimi salad really good. The salmon was sweet and it felt like it was melting in my mouth. Best salmon salad I've had so far. Furthermore, the cheesecake was simply amazing. It was so light, fluffy and soft; possibly the softest I've tried. Really rich flavour as well!

Tangzini

Their Wagyu beef was really good. It was tender and juicy with a mild seasoning.

Cuisine Gourmet by Nathalie - Nathalie's Gourmet Studio

Lovely Macaroons. Splendid flavour with really really good texture. The filling felt really rich and not artificial whilst the crust was just so delicate.

Kiraku Japanese Restaurant

Similar reasons, they weren't ready yet when I was taking the photo.

The Royale Chulan Kuala Lumpur - Bunga Emas

Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur - Lai Po Heen & Mandarin Grill

Shangri-la Hotel Kuala Lumpur - Arthur's Bar and Grill & Lafite

Really loved the beancurt (Pic 4). It has pulled beef with a slight tomato paste and cheese. Satisfaction to the mouth.

Blu Med Ristorante e Bar

Really loved the unagi. Flavourful, fresh and a really nice texture. Simple yet elegant.

Chakri Palace

Marinis

Ten Japanese Fine Dining

Loved the meatballs! Absolutely divine. Also, the Japanese chef at the first photo has posed there for quite some time for us to take photos. I think he got a little mad cause he said "Aish, no more photos okay...?" But overall, really nice guy.

Kronenbourg 1664

Free beer for everyone!

I have tried to cover as many restaurants as I could and I am aware that I'm missing a few photos. Nevertheless, the following will be more photos of the event.

The really cool guy who gave an opening speech before the official commencement of MIGF for guests and VIPs.

Escorting the Cool Guy to the giant chefs hat.

The cutting of the giant chefs hat.

2 personal "bodyguards"

Everyone was dancing that night, it was such a loud and joyous event!

Monte Verde Natural Mineral Water served at MIGF for everyone!
