Xiao Long Kan Hotpot Delivery Services @ Fahrenheit 88, KL

1:11:00 PM

Mala has been the craze for the past year, and during the MCO period, it was quite a challenge trying to get steamboat/hotpot/shabu-shabu delivered. Now, despite us currently being in RMCO (Recovery Movement Control Order), and being allowed to dine outside, there are still certain limitations at place.

Which is why Xiao Long Kan Malaysia has opt to offer their very own private delivery services. As I know there are quite a number of Xiao Long Kan with the exact same name, this delivery service is offered by the branch at Fahrenheit 88 & Gurney Plaza Penang.

The delivery itself comes with both the induction cooker as well as the huge-ass copper pot - Ying Yong style. However, there will be a RM250 deposit for the pot, and a minimum order of RM500 (for the pot loan) for takeaway and delivery.

Hotpot wouldn't be complete without this, the very essence that gives it that rich and velvety taste - Chilli Oil!

My order came with the Signature Mala Soup Base and Tomato Base, in which I must say, was surprisingly good. Here we have clear broth pouring into that block of chilli oil.

And here we have the rich and savoury tomato base, which I'd highly recommend. It packed a whole lot of flavour and works great with most tofu, beancurd or vegetables. It was a little odd with my beef, but it wasn't too bad. I would say say the mala for proteins and tomato soup for veggies.

For my order of meat, I have both pork and beef. My favourite would definitely have to be the 'Chilli Slippery Beef', which honestly I don't know what it's called, but I can say it's absolutely delightful. The sliced ribeye was great as well, with everything sent over being really fresh.

For those that loves fatty pieces of meat, the pork belly & bacon is definitely a great way to soak up all the broth.

My favourite beancurd skin so far. Really soaks up anything you'd throw at it. Definitely worth getting!

For the sides, they have a variety of handmade balls, dumplings and veggies as well.

A comforting meal for easily 3-4 pax at home, also, a great way to use their amazing broth with some of your own ingredients.
