Pablo Japanese Cheese Tart @ 1 Utama, PJ

10:21:00 AM

Fans of Japanese cheese tart rejoice! One of Japan's most popular cheese tart is finally making its mark here at 1 Utama, Malaysia! It's their first ever outlet, so let us all give them a warm welcome.

There has been a craze for these amazing cheese tarts recently and they can pretty much be found anywhere. From high end pastry shops to even night markets, it's pretty much available nationwide.

However, it's nice that Pablo has entered the market to provide something a little different from what we are used to. For one, their customer service is fantastic. Friendly staffs greeting by the counter, and as expected from a Japanese company, they are always smiling.

Their version of the mini cheese tart is a lot more jelly-like in comparison to some that is available on the market. What we, or personally me, had experienced is that the cheese tend to flow a lot more. However, Pablo's version is like biting through soft tofu which just the right amount of creaminess and acidity within. The crust is also a lot thicker, which holds the tart a whole lot better.

The giant cheese tart on the other hand, has the 'flow-ier' texture, but still retains it shape in a fairly unique way. It's crusty on the outside and not as rich and creamy as compared to the mini version. It is then glazed with apricot jam on top to give it that nice acidity to cut through all that richness.

What's truly interesting about this Signature 6' Cheese Tart is the fact that you can order it according to how well you'd like the doneness to be. Either in molten form, or perhaps a more bouncy 'tau fu fa' texture, it is all possible.

Aside from cheese tarts, we also had the chance to try out their signature drink. Which is rather odd as it's a cheese tart drink. Don't ask how they did it, just know that every element in this drink is identical to the Signature 6" Cheese Tart. Though quite surprisingly, the drink isn't as thick as or overpowering as I'd imagined. In fact, the apricot and the milkiness of it works really well.

Last but not least, imported snacks from Japan. Pablo's range of biscuits and cookies! This is the perfect gift for Christmas for anyone that enjoys milk, cream or cheese!
