Tea Verandah @ Atria Mall

8:00:00 AM

If you're looking for a place to have afternoon tea, Tea Verandah might just be able to assist you with that. Located on the upper floor of Atria Mall, adjacent to the glass railings is where Tea Verandah is currently nestled in.

Tea Verandah - RM18 (refillable)

Tea Verandah is the name of the tea, and I believe the cafe was founded upon this tea as well. Otherwise known as a fruit tea, Tea Verandah features an array of dried fruits that was extremely aromatic upon brewing. The natural sweetness of the fruits were noticeable but the taste was subtle and mellow. To conclude, this is easily one of my new favourite tea.

Ocean Aglio Olio - RM25.90

A simple plate of seafood aglio olio that includes mussels and prawns. Cooked to perfection with garlicky and spicy goodness. The spaghetti was nicely al-dante, and complimented well with the seafood. Simple and absolutely delicious.

Grilled Salmon Steak - RM25.90

Nothing too fancy but a fillet of beautifully cooked and seasoned salmon. Paired with buttery mashed potatoes and asparagus and finished with a special blue-cheese dressing on the side. The salmon was extremely fresh, flaky and perfectly seasoned. Though it was cooked through as I prefer it semi-raw, it was still absolutely delicious. Highly recommended.

Mussels Pot - RM18.90

Beautifully cooked fresh mussels in a rich and creamy sauce. Finished with some toasts on the side, it can't get any simpler than this. Certainly I will not consider this as a meal, but more of an appetizer. Despite the depth in flavour and richness of the cream, I still wanted more!

Rosemary Roasted Chicken - RM21.90

It might look ridiculously simple, though that is one of the reason why I liked it. The skin was marinated and roasted to crispy perfection. Packed with flavour on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. The roasted chicken leg was simply delicious.

Marshmallow Cheesecake

To finish, I had a serving of delicious, light and rich marshmallow cheesecake. it had a nice twist, the flambeed marshmallow as it added more depth and smokiness to it. The cheesecake was done nicely with a smooth and velvety texture but airy as well.

To pair with the cheesecake, I had to try a cup of French Coffee. I went for the Moonlight as it was the strongest but to my surprise, it was pretty mild. Good aroma and a strong body, pretty decent for me.

In a nut shell, though Tea Verandah might seem like a place for high-tea, their mains were pretty good as well. I guess its a good example of  'do not judge a book by its cover'. Great place to chill and definitely a great place for tea.
