Stranger at 47 @ Section 17

8:00:00 AM

I believe Strangers at 47 is no longer foreign to the majority of Klang Valley's population. However, for those who do not know, Strangers at 47 offers one of the best tasting crepes in town. Not only on a dessert level, but on a savoury level as well. For those who are looking for something light, unique and exquisite, Strangers at 47 might be able to help you.

The entrance.

Shore to Please - RM21.50

Shore to Please falls under the category of 'Savoury Crepes' - obviously. Served with deliciously fresh cajun tiger prawns, battered squid, a layer of spinach, caramelized onions, roasted cherry tomatoes and salty egg yolk condiment - the combination was not only balanced in flavour but a good mix of texture as well. This was my favourite among the 'savoury' that I've tried.

Eggcited Over Cheese - RM24.50

Similarly, Eggcited Over Cheese is one of their limited-time only savoury crepes. It comes in a wholemeal crepe, homemade tomato basil sauce, chicken chorizo, caramelized onions, baked mozzarella cheese, golden hash brown, rocket leaves and finished with a golden sunny side up.

As you can see above, the yolk was penetrated and the internal chicken embryonic fluid leaked. The combination was lovely indeed, but incomparable to the Shore to Please. I loved the homemade tomato basil sauce as I find it balanced and well seasoned. The additional runny yolk did make the crepe a little heartier and I enjoyed the fact that rocket leaves were subtle. Overall, a fantastic crepe but my vote still goes to the Shore to Please.

It's Kelapa - RM9

Despite the odd sounding mix of ingredients, the results were exceptionally good. It took no longer than 10 seconds for the 3 of us to finish (fight over) it. The pandan infused coconut custard was a ingenious idea which contributed most of the dish's flavour. The shaved toasted coconut bits gave the dish a little bite and the vanilla ice cream and orange caramel was a nice finish. I would highly recommend this to anyone who are slightly adventurous!

Adam's Sin - RM11

This I believe, is an acquired-taste kinda dish. Not many can accept the heavily infused cinnamon taste but for those who do, it's definitely worth the try. Lovely mix of cinnamon infused apple alongside blueberries, salted caramel and crushed wholemeal crumble.

Red Riding Hood - RM11

Last but not least, their signature Red Riding Hood (officialized by myself). It's a red velvet crepe filled with espresso cream and finished with crushed coffee bits, raspberry coulis and vanilla ice cream. Loved the combination of flavour, loved the presentation and definitely my absolutely favourite.

In conclusion, as this was my second visit, the consistency remained. Everything was like it did when I first tried it. I appreciate the creativity, passion and love for food. Everything here has been great and I'll definitely return for more!
