Songket 4th Anniversary Dinner @ Jalan Yap Kwan Seng
8:00:00 AMSongket is a restaurant that is pretty hard to find along Jalan Yap Kwan Seng. For one, its located behind a row of shoplots. However, once you've entered there will be ample parking spaces available with a really traditional looking entrance. Unfortunately, I was not able to take the entrance due to lack of time.
Songket serves traditional Malay cooking with a little modern twist. It has also received numerous awards for being one of the best restaurants in KL.
For the 4th anniversary dinner, we will be having their buffet styled serving. Something to look forward to!

The compilation of desserts. I know the 4th photo, the pink one looks a little disgusting and weird but it was alright. Just really sweet that's all. Everything else had their own unique texture and flavour, although they share a common sweetness.
Chicken Soup
I have to say, the chicken soup was packed filled with flavour. Sweet, salty and a little oily on top is what I would describe it as but regardless, it was a pretty good bowl of soup.
Nasi Kerabu
It looks beautifully blue. Really enjoyed it with my lamb rendang. Although I do not have a photo of it here but the lamb rendang was the best I've had in KL.
Of course, there was dance performance during the event! Traditional "saucer" dance and other variants of it, I am not very sure. However, it truly was entertaining.
Last but not least, Songket's upcoming dishes to be added into the menu. It was pretty unfortunate for us since we weren't able to try it but I sure hope we will in the future. Everything looks really delicious.
