Once again, we were all gathered for a food tasting session organised by Openrice Malaysia. This time, its Plus One Shabu Shabu in Bandar Puteri Puchong. Hidden deep within Puchong or rather near by to the Puteri Mart, lies multiple rows of newly constructed shop houses and in one of them, is the restaurant.

First and foremost, I would like to say that the location of the restaurant was rather difficult to be found. Even GPS would not bring me there. However, once you've located and entered the restaurant, its interior was rather spacious. Plenty of tables to choose from, and 2 VIP rooms for event, business meeting or various activities.

Now, the broths. Plus One Shabu Shabu has a variety of broths available, about 18, ranging from Thai Tomyam broth to Pepper Pork Broth or even Japanese Miso Broth. The one which I ordered was the Tomyam broth but I was able to taste a spoon-full from the other bloggers as well. One broth for example, the Macau Pork Bone Broth, took more than a minimum of 4-5 hours on slow heat to cook. The result is an amazing and aromatic broth which gets better slowly.

My verdict? Well, the spiciness of the Tomyam was at an acceptable level, although more would be better for me. Hinges of sweet and sour can also be tasted throughout the broth. It was actually pretty good.

Furthermore, I would like to say that the freshness of the ingredients were there. Especially the seafood platter. No unwanted fishy smell or odor.

Sauces, another key element in Shabu Shabu. Mix and match from 8 different selections and create your own twist.

Last but not least, the variety of side orders available. Plenty to choose from, all fresh and the price was reasonable.
