Lunch in Burger Junkyard @ Kota Damansara

2:11:00 PM

Just a week ago, me and Pig went for another outing organised by Foodirector! This time, one of the burger joint that we had not tried, Burger Junkyard. The outing was set at 2.30pm, for lunch. However, the night before we were in Genting celebrating my friends birthday, and also he wanted to watch Wang Lee Hom's concert.

We had to fly back from Genting to Puchong to Kota Kemuning and finally to Kota Damansara in 2 hours. Exciting! Anywho, the following will be photos and explanation! HOHO

The 4 owners were really nice people. The one wearing the chef dressing apparently is the head chef. He was the one who explained most of the methods of preparing the food. Each of them also told us their favourite burger in the menu (or their best creation). It was really nice of them to do a little interview with us.
3 of the owners have culinary background while the last one has hotel management/hospitality.

Some interior shots of the place.

They allowed us to take some photos of them preparing our meal.

More interior shots. Really like the way they decorate their restaurant.

Menu!

The burgers are served!
There were really a lot of burgers being served, and there was a lot of names, as I am really bad at names, I can't remember all, but I will try.

The Ratatouille! I couldn't try this burger but to those who did, they say it was pretty good.

The Texas Hold 'Me'. Did not get to try this.

The Fromage et Fungi. Kinda like a mushroom burger. Did not try this as well. But to those who did, they complimented it a lot. They really liked the mushrooms inside!

The Beef'in Blankets. I had a bite on this, and it was really awesome! The simple combination of bacon, cheese and beef was pure delight. The crispy yet soft bun was able to absorb the flavours. A really nice and simple burger.

The Brooklyn Burger. A regular American styled burger. Beef or chicken, beef bacon, smoked turkey ham, grilled pineapples, tomato, raw onions, fried egg & house aioli. The burger wasn't bad, but it didn't give the 'umph' that I wanted. Its like a burger we could get almost anywhere. Having said that, its not entirely a bad burger, its really just...a burger.

Another of my favourite. This is the Buffalo Soldier. Its chicken by the way. Its chicken with buffalo wings sauce, tomatoes and celery. The same concept as eating buffalo wings. Really loved how the juices flowed out of the burger. Pure heaven.

This was the last burger served and by far the one with the strongest flavour. Blue Paranormia. Its beef topped with BLUE CHEESE. I had to share with another blogger, so I had a quarter of it. Even if it was a quarter, even if the blue cheese was really minimal, the flavours engulfed my mouth. Really really awesome. I may not like blue cheese, but to incorporate it into a burger, it really packs a punch. A little goes a long way huh....

The 2 burgers that I did not mention which were the Hoola Hoop Hawaii and Balsamic Beefin' Onions due to the reason I did not take a photo nor try it. So yeah...ahahhaaha

The fries, comes with 2 types of sauce. One of it is their signature brown sauce, the other was a tomato concasse. The brown sauce taste kinda mushroomie whilst the tomato concasse taste like really fresh made bolognese sauce. Personally, I prefer the tomato concasse more.

The Vanilla Panna Cotta with Lingonberry Compote.

This was really a surprise to us. I mean, who would've thought that a burger shop would serve some Fine-dining dessert? The wobbly-jelly-like thing was really soft and creamy. It tasted a bit like frozen yoghurt with full cream milk. The lingonberry gave a very citrus-like sweetness to balance the heavy, milky, feel of the Panna Cotta. A stream of chocolate compliments the heavy vanilla and also to increase its aesthetic value.

Chocolate Brownie with vanilla ice-cream and caramel sauce. The chocolate brownie was really soft and warm. It was able to absorb the flavours of the melting ice-cream and caramel. Overall, the brownie was really really good. However, I do find it pointless to scribble caramel around the plate. It may be for aesthetic purposes, but I personally believe that there is another way to play about.

I do not know whether or not they will be serving it as regular dishes, or was it just for us. But it truly shoes the culinary skills that the owners have. Their hospitality also gave a really warm feel to it.

Here are some photos that I did not upload previously. It was a really fun day with them and I would like to thank both Burger Junkyard and Foodirector for the experience! I would love to join them for the next outing in a Mexican restaurant but unfortunately I have to work. Shit!

Note: My English may be slightly bad this time because my writing juice wasn't triggered.
