Pretz n' Beanz Cafe @ IPC, Damansara

8:00:00 AM

Pretz n' Beanz Cafe has been around for quite sometime here at Ikano Power Center. It anchors between the walkway of Ikea and IPC, which is very easy to find. As the name suggests, Pretz n' Beanz specializes in two things, pretzels and coffee. The idea and concept of the cafe revolves around these two ideas. Further further ado, here is what I had at Pretz n' Beanz Cafe IPC.

The entrance.

Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel - RM6.25

We began with something light, simple, and is one of their signature items and brand name. The cinnamon sugar pretzel is done beautifully with a generous dusting of cinnamon sugar. The pretzel was also soft and fluffy which was delightful.

Champignon Baked Egg - RM17.90

Followed by a form of baked eggs knwon as the Champignon Baked Eggs. Filled with sauteed mushrooms, tomatoes, eggs and of course, a generous amount of cheese. Served with a side of tiny pretzels, and celery & carrot sticks. The dish was rather light in flavour and pleasant, as suppose to something rich and dense.

Green Curry Chicken Pretzel n' Stew - RM17.90

This is one of the latest additions to the menu. Like the Champignon Baked Eggs, this comes with a side of pretzels and vegetables sticks. The green curry was really well balanced in flavour and wasn't too spicy. The richness of the curry worked really brilliantly with the tender-soft chicken thighs. Simply dip the pretzel in the curry and enjoy.

Smoked Salmon Aglio-Olio Spaghetti - RM26.40

The Smoked Salmon Aglio Olio is a pretty standard plate of pasta. Served with a generous amount of smoked salmon and vegetables, the dish was light, well-seasoned and pleasantly delicious.

Cheesy Mushroom Baked Rice

Like any other cheese-baked rice, it's done with a generous amount of cheese and cream. Similarly, this dish was pleasant and all, but wasn't the best they have.

Volcano Burger

The Volcano Burger is also one of the latest additions to the menu. Featuring a bun filled with creamy chicken stew and fresh salsa on top. Well-seasoned and light in flavour. Served with a side of fries.

Chicken Hawaiian Pretzel Pizza & BBQ Chicken Pretzel Pizza - RM15.80/RM22.15 (small/large)

The iconic pretzel pizza. Pretz n' Beanz is the first ever cafe or restaurant to introduce the pretzel pizza with your choice of classic toppings. The chicken hawaiian pretzel pizza is perfect for those who loves pineapples on their pizza while the bbq chicken pretzel pizza is a savoury dish that many would enjoy. Apart from the soft consistency of the dough, the pizzas were incredibly well made.

The other great thing about the pretzel pizza is the fact that the dough will maintain soft and fluffy for hours, even without heating it up. That is a secret none of us know how. Regardless, both the pretzel pizzas by Pretz n' Beanz were great.

Chocolate Lava Cake

To wrap things up, we had a serving of luxurious chocolate lava cake. The cake itself is beautifully done to a smooth and fluffy consistency, while keeping the melted chocolate inside perfectly. It also has a good balance of sweetness to bitterness which I really appreciate. Along with that scoop of vanilla ice cream, it's a treat to say the least.

Overall, there are more than meets the eyes at Pretz n' Beanz. From coffee to pretzels, spaghetti to pretzel pizza, everything was done quite nicely. Flavours were nice and balanced, without one being too heavy nor dense. Service is also relatively quick and the staffs were really friendly.
