Moku Japanese Grill & BBQ @ Oasis Damansara, PJ

Nestled in Ara Damansara, Moku Japanese Grill is a new and possibly only place to have some Japanese skewers grilled and BBQ-ed at Oasis Damansara, or anything within a 10-15km radius. The restaurant itself is located at one end of the area, which is somewhat easy to get to and spot if you're on the right road.

The entrance.

The interior of the place felt really different - like a mix between a Thai street food restaurant and a Japanese bar. It has the necessary equipment and showcasing to look Japanese, at the same time the choices of furniture used are felt really Thai. Regardless, it was a cozy place with almost no noticeable scent of bbq smoke.

We started off with a couple of bottles of cold pressed juice. Power of 3, Immunity, Fireball and Citrus. Each has its own unique blend of fruits along with its respective taste. I somehow felt that the Power of 3 was the most pleasant, as it contains 3 of my favourite ingredients for a mixed-juice - dragon fruit, watermelon and cucumber.

I do not enjoy the ginger and celery as much because I simply can't stand the strong after-taste of it.

These are some of the items that are yet to be released, the top being a fried whole bird, fried shrimp with sea salt and chicken wings. All of them had a really nice, crisp and salty skin along with a moist interior which was pleasant and enjoyable.

These were just some of what I had that night. The items ranges from standard chicken wings to something more bizarre like chicken heart, gizzard, liver and beef tongue. Of course, there are a variety of other more usual components available. Simply pick from the menu.

There are also skewers of vegetables available. As seen on the photo above, lady's finger, cherry tomatoes, eggplants are just some of the available options. Things like butter mushroom, stuffed portobello, tofu and many more too are available.

Without forgetting their range of seafood. Although at the moment there isn't as much, there is still a decent amount. Scallops, salmon, tiger prawn and shisamo are just some of what's available.

Followed by my obsession with grilled squid. I really do enjoy them - in fact, I love them! They're so tender, not exactly juice but packed with the essence of the sea. When cooked correctly, they're gorgeous not just in flavour, but in texture as well. The grilled squid was probably the best that I've had in Moku Japanese Grill & BBQ - done exactly just how I liked it.

To those that wanna feel full, cause I'm quite sure the skewers may not be enough, you can opt for their spaghetti. Do not be surprised, there are other mains including burger, katsudon, chicken teriyaki, salad, udon, salmon steak and many more.

In conclusion, I would give Moku Japanese Grill & BBQ a pretty good rating. Service may be a little sluggish at times but the results are worth it. Especially when you order a bottle of beer to pair with those delicious skewers. Prices are pretty reasonable - ranging at RM2.50 to RM20 per stick depending on order. So if you're looking for a nice place to chill at night along with some light but addictive snack - Moku Japanese Grill & BBQ might just be the place for you.
