Dr.Inc @ Bangsar

8:00:00 AM

I've heard a lot about this place, especially regarding coffee and their amazing nasi lemak. Although I've visited Dr.Inc several months ago, I've just came across it my folder and decided to talk about it now.

The entrance.

Here are a bunch of pictures regarding the decor, both on the ground floor and first floor. It was  quite well designed and I appreciate the thought and details put into it. Although it was quite hot and humid, it surprisingly was quite pleasant.

Embarrassingly, I pronounced Dr.Inc as Doctor Inc when it was meant to be pronounced as 'drink'. Coffee enthusiast Mr.Jeremy is one of the operatives there and is possibly one of the best around Malaysia. Creating coffee with the utmost passion, you'll definitely be exposed to a wide variety of odd but good tasting coffees.

Presso Bomb - RM14

Identical to a Jaeger Bomb but with an espresso and ice cream soda instead. The traditional ice cream soda was sourced from Malacca, where the company is pretty much hidden and uncommon. Slightly gassier than the normal F&N ice cream soda, and a little more flavourful, the ancient ice cream soda works really well with the bitterness of the espresso. What I had was a light and refreshing but powerful and kick-ish cup of coffee.

Latte - RM10

A simple cup of latte, well brewed and smooth till the core. Lovely.

Che Guevara - RM14

I do not know why is it name that way but it certainly was a good inspiration. Made with 2 shots of espresso and a wedge of lemon, topped with brown sugar on the tip of the cup, this cup of coffee was undeniably refreshing. Sweet, sour and bitter, a balance and harmony between 3 flavours - interesting indeed.

Nasi Lemak - RM12

The nasi lemak of Dr.Inc is very popular among the locals. Served only on Sunday where it will be sold out by 11am. The nasi lemak was quite simple, the Malaysian bungkus style with sambal of the day, cucumber, peanuts, crispy anchovies and finished with half an egg.

The sambal will differ weekely depending on the chef, sometimes prawn and perhaps squid on other days. Regardless, it truly was a treat. The sambal had a nice balance of spiciness and sweetness, served with fresh plump prawns, it was a luxury like no other. The fragrance from the rice was truly overwhelming. Aromatic, rich and full of flavour as it absorbs the sambal beautifully.

Overall, Dr.Inc is an extremely nice place to hang out. Although they had no air-conditioning, it was well ventilated. With unique coffees and awesome nasi lemak on a Sunady, I understand why people would flock over to Dr.Inc. Beautiful place, lots of heritage and much to see.
