WonderFood Adventure by The Butterfly Project @ 1 Utama

11:05:00 PM

Just last week, I was lucky enough to be selected as one of the participants in the 1Utama WonderFood Adventure organised by The Butterfly Project (https://www.facebook.com/ButterflyProjectMalaysia). Interestingly, 1Utama is also the 4th largest mall in the world! This event has allowed me to try up to 15 restaurants in 1Utama's Food Street (LG) itself. We were given a time frame of 5 hours to try all of them.

Initially, I thought that was ridiculous; "5 hours to try everything? Wouldn't that be too much time?" Well, I was wrong. In fact, I had to rush quite a lot after 7th or 8th restaurant. A Food-Passport was given to all of us, requiring us to stamp after order. That will indicate that we had already visited the restaurant and will not be able to order in the same restaurant twice.

Finally, I would like to say that I sincerely do like the goodie-bag given to us. It has a portable power-bank, a Christmas pillow, a 1 Utama towel, activity vouchers, a carton of Marigold juice and RM50 credit-voucher for a OneCard. Awesome goodie-bag indeed.

Benefits of the ONECARD are as follows:

  • 1 UPoint for every RM1 spent at ONECARD participating outlets
  • Cheaper parking rates
  • Exclusive parking at ONECARD selected parkings or Platinum parking
  • Hassle-free parking with its easy to use prepaid-like functions. Just top up the desired amount and swipe away!

The registration counter.

1st stop : Ninja Joe. (Non-halal pork burgers)
Meal ordered: Pork Burger set.

Juicy pork burgers, reasonably small and easy to have on the go. Patties were juicy and moist.

One of my favourite Korean dishes, Kimchi-jjigae, comes with Korean side-dishes and a bowl of organic brown rice.

Guilt-free meal! Low fat, healthy and cheap.

The rainbow cupcake looks really attractive and eye-catching. Unfortunately, I couldn't have it.

Surprisingly large portions of cendols being served here.

Who says Bak Kut Teh in a shopping mall cannot be good? Pao Xiang has pretty aromatic and flavourful Bak Kut Teh and crispy fried You Tiao as well.

Craving for multiple choices of chicken? Well, here at BBQ chicken, there are several different styles of chicken being prepared.

The thing that really caught my attention was the Volcanic Lava Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream. Warm chocolate cake with a large amount of liquid chocolate being oozed out when cut. Truly a delight!
