Taiwanese Style Mooncake @ Donutes

Mid-autumn festival is just around the corner, and what better way to celebrate it if it isn't a selection of delicious mooncakes?

Here we have Donute's version of the Taiwanese-style mooncake. Unlike the traditional method of using a slightly dough-ier skin, the Taiwanese's variant is done in a pastry style.

As you can see, there are layers upon layers, creating a flaky yet crusty bite. Each box comes with 7 different flavours in a set of 9pcs (there will be repeat of flavours).

  • Red Bean Yolk
  • Matcha Yolk
  • Red Bean Mochi Yolk
  • Sweet Potato Yolk
  • Mung Bean Fried Onion
  • White Lotus Yolk
  • Taro Yolk

Personally, I enjoyed the Matcha & Taro Yolk the most. They weren't very sweet and had a nice fragrance in them. The size is just right and the variety of flavours really allowed me to try more than one flavour at once.

Fillings were really rich, and flavours were well balanced across the mooncakes. The price is set at RM58.50 per box, which comes with 9pcs of Taiwanese-Styled Mooncakes.

Just look at how pretty they are!

Overall, I was really pleased with Donutes' Taiwanese-style mooncakes. Not only are they really cheap in comparison with what's available today, they're also great for gifts!

They are available from 11th of September 2017 onwards, at any Donutes outlet in Puchong, Kota Damansara & Subang SS15!
