Torazou Ramen @ Kuchai Lama, KL

3:44:00 PM

Finding a good ramen place in Kuchai Lama isn't exactly an easy task. Despite the amount of restaurants and cafes available, there are none that whips up a decent bowl of noodles. Fortunately, Torazou Ramen has just been brought in, serving a variety of homemade ramen noodles in a delicious tonkotsu broth.

Here is what they have.

3 of their best sellers.

Buta Kimchi - RM12.90

Starting off with something a little acidic. This blend of kimchi, sliced pork, vegetables and egg is simple but packed with a good amount of flavour. Though it  may look really simple, the dish serves as a pretty good appetizer.

Hiroshima Wings - RM7.80

I'm not sure why it's named Hiroshima Wings but I can confirm one thing, it has good flavour. The chicken is fried to crispy perfection, along with a starchy pull from the crust. A word of advice, do feast on it quickly before it cools!

Okonomiyaki - RM11.80

As most of you might already know, this is a plate of Japanese pancakes. Made with a good amount of vegetables and meat, this plate of pancake comes packed full of flavour along with a nice crunch.

Ika Maru Maki - RM22

Now I love my grilled squid and I'm fairly particular with it. Fortunately, this plate was grilled to perfection where the skin is nice and crusty while maintaining a tender and succulent flesh. The teriyaki glaze too was quite nice as it adds a tiny bit of sweetness to the dish. Don't forget to squeeze some lemon on it!

Torazou Pork Rib Ramen - RM21.90

This my friend, is a total beast. Apart from the homemade ramen noodles along with a flavourful broth, the pork rib is done to absolute perfection. The tenderness, along with the stickiness of the sauce, and of course, flavours as well were amazing. It's both rich, hearty and packed full of flavour. This bowl of ramen is definitely worth going for.

Black Garlic Ramen - RM15.90

For those who are a fan of garlic, this ramen may be more suited towards you. The broth, which is made from freshly roasted garlic followed by a blend of spices and various ingredients, is both sweet and savoury. It also comes with slices of pork belly, which will soak up the flavours of the broth beautifully.

Aka Niku Miso Ramen - RM17.90

Last but not least, a simple bowl of ramen with a tinge of spiciness. This dish is perfect for those who wants a light but tangy taste, or for those who aren't exactly hungry. The flavours are well balanced while the condiments added both texture and depth of flavour.

Of course, all the ramen above comes with a set of Japanese broiled eggs!

Ramen in the making.

In conclusion, Torazou Ramen is a place that offers one of the best ramen in town. If you're looking for a quick get-away with some Japanese food, or hearty, delicious bowls of ramen, this is the place for you. They also have bento sets and sushi available for kids!
