My Fear of Dentist @ KL City Dentist, Kuala Lumpur

12:10:00 AM

Ever since I was little, I had a fear of doctors. Any doctors in the medical profession, even TCM-type doctors. I've always find them awfully scary and discomforting. Especially after my admittance to SJMC at the age of 7, I generally dislike all sorts of clinics and hospital. Even the smell of it is more effective than a cockroach repellent.

In any case, despite my terrible fear of dentist (and doctors), I knew the importance of it - The importance of having a healthy set of teeth, along with maintaining it and making sure nothing ever happens to it. Which is why I had to buckle up and do what I must.

So without further ado, here is my experience at KL City Dentist.

The lovely waiting room where there is a large tv, couches and a painting for Manhattan City.

Before that, this is the hallway towards KL City Dentist, located at Menara HSC, on the 7th floor along Jalan Ampang.

KL City Dentists.

This clinic is operated under Dr Mong and Dr Su. Dr Wong was attended to me on that day.

A small pantry with tea and water.

A scenic view of the city from KL City Dentist.

The next hallway into Dr Mong's lab.

I was told this is where most of the equipment are sanitized. Looked incredibly white isn't it?

I have finally arrived. On a cool side, the machine that I was about to hop on had a lcd panel on it, while playing Youtube. Pretty neat.

A closer look.

So here I am, saying my last prayers before the commencement of my procedure. I'm due for a polish and clean, 3 days before Chinese New Year. Cleaner, whiter and shinier set of teeth for CNY, and hopefully that will bring in an abundance of wealth and prosperity as well.

Channeling my inner peace.

And so it begins.

Placing a piece of plastic film inside my mouth for a X-ray scan. That thing was incredibly hard to hold as I kept choking on it. Not to mention my mouth do not open as wide as it should.

Here were some photos of my teeth, most of which needs to be cleaned out. As I was told, food stains are trapped within those linings (those that looks like a dark line). Which is why removing them twice a year is recommended. These are spots that even the fanciest tooth brush will not be able to brush it out.

Followed by the X-ray scan, where though it's not shown here, I have a wisdom tooth on my bottom right corner. Bloody hell.

So after all that cleaning and polishing, my teeth does look significantly brighter, whiter and way cleaner. Another plus point that I have to point out is how fast Dr Mong worked his way around my set of teeth. Not to mention that by the end of the session, my gums weren't bleeding like it did at my previous dentist.

Though it may get a little sensitive at times, the entire procedure was painless and quick. Kudos to you Dr Mong. Overall, my experience was more than pleasant as it wasn't as painful as it used to be. Everything was done quite swiftly and orderly, which  was really nice.

*PS: I've also forgotten to mention that at the end of the session, you'll be given a report on your current tooth condition, along with a brief report regarding your set of teeth printed on a piece of paper. Sort of like a reference for the future.

Other services such as teeth whitening, teeth grinding prevention and many more are available here as well.
