llaollao Natural Frozen Yogurt @ Midvalley Megamall, KL

11:28:00 PM

It is finally here, the ever so popular llaollao that has been gaining international recognition even before the brand set its foot in Malaysia. The closest one we had before this was in Singapore, which requires an average of 15-20 minutes of queueing. However, all that is about to change as this Spanish sensation already has two outlets in Malaysia, Pavlion KL and Midvalley Megamall, and will soon expand even further.

Located just around the center-court, llaollao takes up little to none space but has in incredibly eye-catching kiosk design. The bright frame of the kiosk really helped in finding the place as I could see it from the cinema side.

Unlike many other froyo place, llaollao's version is made from skimmed milk with a low fat content, amounting in a froyo that melts slightly quicker but has a richer and more in-depth flavour. It is also a lot more sour compared to most places. Made fresh daily, with the numbers climbing up to as high as 7 times on a weekday and 12 on weekends. So you're to expect fresh and amazing yogurt throughout the week.

Apart from that, Ilao Ilao also uses an wide array of toppings and fresh fruits. In the photo above, you'll notice some sauces as well as others are in a series for the ever so famous Sanum!

Starting with the fruits, llaollao has a dedicated team of employee just to cut the fruits on a daily basis. Fresh fruits such as watermelon, bananas, pineapple, and melons are brought in daily and cut on the spot. On the other hand, fresh berries (not frozen) are also imported.

They also have the idea of seasonal fruits, where each region is different from one another.

Sanum - RM17.90

This is one of the most popular item on the menu. Known as the Sanum, it comprises of a layer of froyo at the bottom, followed by the first layer of crunch (toppings), 3 layers of fruits, another layer of crunch (toppings), a rather generous amount of froyo and finished with your choice of sauce. The white sauce, also known as the Raffailao sauce, is one of their signature. Mixed with crushed waffles and coconut, this white chocolate indulgence is certainly worth the diabetes.

The first layer of crunch will be added right after the froyo. Choose from a selection of cereals, brittle, caramelised seeds, musli, cookies, nuts and even classics like Kitkat, Oreo, Toblerone and Chips Ahoy.

In conclusion, llaollao may just be my favourite yogurt place, if not a general spot for desserts. Everything, from head to toe, was incredibly fresh and well thought off. I really enjoyed the natural taste of the yogurt, as well as the toppings (especially the Raffailao sauce). Overall, this place is definitely worth the try and I can finally understand the hype behind it.
