The new Samsung Galaxy S4

The day has finally arrived in which the new Samsung Galaxy S4 is launched. I was waiting forever to watch the Samsung 4 Unpacked Livestream, but overslept. Apparently its 8pm in the US and around 7am here in Malaysia. I missed the live show so I had to watch the replay on YouTube.

Nevertheless, Samsung has once again surprised us with stunning features. They've implemented a new feature on its camera which can allow both front and back camera to be used at once. This feature allows the user to record a video using the back camera, and include him or herself in the video with the front camera. The front camera will then add a small box (which is editable with the given style) on the recorded screen. This feature will also be made available on regular photo taking and video calls.

The camera feature also includes a few new styles and effects (as usual). The camera is now much sharper and more saturated compared to its predecessor S3. It also features a "Sound & Shot" mode which records voices when taking photo. For example, you could take a group photo whilst saying "Happy Birthday John" and sent it to John. John will then receive the photo, but with added sound as well. Nifty feature there.

Samsung has also redesign the interface. No longer will there be a black bar at the top of the screen. Samsung has replaced it with a transparent bar both at the top (for battery, time and signal strength) and the bottom (call, phone book, apps etc).

The black bar on top is replaced with a transparent one.

The S4 will also be able to detect touch-sensitiveness when the user is wearing gloves.

Specification wise, the processor features a 1.9GHz Quad-core processor or a 1.6GHz Octa-core processor depending on market. The back camera has 13 megapixels and the front has 2 megapixels. The screen comes in 5inch (4.99) Full HD Amoled (1920x1080 / 1080p) and a total of 441ppi. It also comes in Corning's Gorilla Glass 3. It weighs only 130 grams and is 7.9mm thick. It comes in 16/32/64gb internal storage with an expandable MicroSD card slot up to 64gb. Apparently it also comes with new sensors such as Temperature and Humidity. It also comes in 2 colors, Frost White and Misty Black.

The phone features a lot more such as Air Gesture, Eye tracking, Smart Pause, S Translator, S voice, S health (able to count the number of calories burned by walking each day)
